Jean-Michel Malouf

Boulev’Art Artists’ Management is proud to announce Maestro Jean-Michel Malouf’s nomination as Music Director & Conductor of the Orchestre symphonique du Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean (Quebec, Canada).

Mr. Malouf takes over from Maestro Jacques Clément, who was assuming these responsibilities since 1979.

More than forty applications were sent and half came in from outside of Canada. Ten conductors were interviewed and three finalists were selected to each conduct an OSSLJJ’s concert last season.

Jean-Michel Malouf is an accomplished trombonist and he started studying orchestral direction with Raffi Armenian in 2005. A year later, Mr. Malouf became Artistic Director of the Orchestre symphonique des jeunes de Joliette, position he held until 2011. He also took up the musical direction of the Terrebonne Symphony Orchestra, the Philharmonie jeunesse de Montréal and the Sérénade Chamber Orchestra.
