Pierre Rancourt, BARITONE
French canadian baritone Pierre Rancourt is renowned for his well-rounded, incredibly communicative, distinctive voice, as well as for his innate musicality. He is a recipient of scholarships from the Jacques-Lareau and Marusia-Yaworska foundations, First Prize winner of the Canadian Music Competition, a two-time laureate of the Jeunes Ambassadeurs lyriques program, and has represented Canada in the Klaudia-Taev International Singing Competition in Estonia. He also has been an Artist in residency at the Opera de Montreal's Atelier Lyrique.
Past engagements include the title role in Don Giovanni, Papageno, Schaunard, Marullo, Eugène Seers (Nelligan), Mr. Kofner (The Consul), The Hunter (Rusalka), Le Premier Ministre (Cendrillon) and The Jailer Tosca).
In concert Mr. Rancourt he has sung with Montreal’s Orchestre métropolitain, L’Orchestre symphonique de Québec, L’Orchestre symphonique de Laval, L’Orchestre symphonique des jeunes de Montréal, Le Chœur de Québec, L’Ensemble Polyphonia, La Société d’art vocal de Montréal, Tempêtes et Passions, Le Chœur Les Rhapsodes, and L’Ensemble de musique sacrée de Québec.
