Cédric Hanriot is a pianist, musical director, composer, arranger, sound designer, music producer and educator.
He plays piano, Fender Rhodes, keyboards, synthesizers, Hammond B3 organ, clavinet, vocoder and manages sound processing and electronic sounds in real time with computer/machines (real time audio processing). He is mostly active in jazz, jazz fusion, hip hop, funk, latin jazz, electronic music and pop. He obtained a master's degree in Electronics and Signal Processing from the University of Nancy, and a bachelor's degree in Professional Music from Berklee College of Music (Boston, USA) for which he received the prestigious American Fulbright scholarship.
He worked on Diane Reeve's album Beautiful Life which won the Grammy Award for "Best Vocal Jazz Album of the Year" in 2015. He is also a recipient of the French American Jazz Exchange grant, supported by the F
rench Export Bureau and Mid Atlantic Arts Foundation.
The pianist has recorded several albums: Funky way of life (1999) with the group Notorious, Electrify my soul - frogNstein (2007) with Bertrand Beruard, French Stories (2011), Hyperion - City of Poets (2016) with Jason Palmer and Day (2018) as a member of the duo KS2, with drummer Frank Agulhon.
Cedric Hanriot has performed worldwide and has notably collaborated with big names in jazz and current music such as: John Patitucci, Gregoire Maret, Terri Lyne Carrington, Donny McCaslin, Clarence Penn, Jeff Ballard, André Ceccarelli, Luis Salinas, James Genus as well as Gregory Porter, Lalah Hathaway, Raul Midon, Lizz Wright, Chaka Khan, Natalie Cole, Jaguar Wright, Lulu Gainsbourg, George Duke, Robert Glasper, Richard Bona, Esperanza Spalding, Meshell Ndegeocello, Paco Sery, Regina Carter, Florin Niculescu, Alex Han, Melissa Aldana, Logan Richardson, Tineke Postma, Otis Brown III, Terreon Gully, Jason Palmer, Michael Janisch, Nelson Veras, Minino Garay, Charles Turner, Candice Hoyes, Franck Agulhon, Ben Powell, Tran Manh Tuan, and Maria Mendes.
